The Permission Slip That Changes Everything

Thanks, for sharing:

Over the years I have worked with many women who share a common goal. They want more, but they also want less.

They want more

  • More peace.
  • More depth.
  • More connection.
  • More room to breathe.

But also

  • less noise.
  • Less drama.
  • Less chasing.
  • Less explaining.

And here’s the important part - you can have both.

  • You are allowed to want a life that feels full without feeling crowded.
  • You are allowed to crave simplicity without settling for smallness.
  • You are allowed to stop chasing more and still want better. That's what I did.

This is the final permission slip! The one that invites you to shape your life by your own values. Not the world’s noise. Not social media’s metrics. Not someone else’s idea of what “success” looks like. And definitely not your default mode of settling for less.

You’re Not Wrong for Wanting Quieter, Deeper, Realer

Let’s face it: there’s pressure everywhere to want more, do more, become more. More hustle. More goals. More upgrades. And if you’re not chasing that… you’re seen as “giving up” or “thinking small.”

But there’s a different path. One that doesn’t ask you to shrink, just to choose. To choose meaning over momentum and clarity over chaos. A life that fits you, not one that flatters the algorithm. This is not about “playing small.” It’s about right-sizing your life.

What Wanting “More and Less” Looks Like in Real Life

It looks like:

Saying yes to deep relationships, and no to draining ones.

Wanting more time for stillness, while needing fewer obligations that fill your calendar but not your soul.

Wanting more creative freedom and less noise about what you “should” be doing.

Wanting your life to feel rich and meaningful even if it looks simpler from the outside.

It’s building a life that feels like yours, not a performance for others. And here’s the reframe:
You stop trying to explain or justify your needs and begin honouring them.
That’s when everything starts to feel like yours again.

Define “Enough” on Your Own Terms
Start here:

What does “enough” look like for you?
Not the version you have been taught, but the one your nervous system craves.

What kind of life feels good on a Tuesday afternoon, not just in highlight reels?

What are you carrying that no longer fits? What can be dropped without loss?

When you stop defining enough by someone else’s standards, you get to make choices from alignment instead of comparison.
And that’s where peace lives.

Say No to What Steals Your Time Without Feeding Your Soul

This part is bold. But necessary.

  • Say no to the calendar clutter that doesn’t reflect your real values.
  • Say no to emotional dynamics that feel like walking on eggshells.
  • Say no to the impulse to prove your worth through productivity.
  • Say no to the hustle-for-approval loop that leaves you burned out and still not satisfied.

When you stop spending energy where it’s not honoured, you get it back.
And that reclaimed energy? That’s what fuels your real yes.

Let Your Life Get Simpler, Slower, Clearer, Even If It Confuses Others

People may not understand your shift.

They might question why you’re saying no more often. Why you’re not pushing as hard.  Why you’re resting more, unplugging more, staying quiet instead of performing. That’s okay.
You are not building your life to impress others. You’re building it to feel right to you.
And clarity often looks like rebellion in a world that’s addicted to noise.
You’re not lost. You’re refining. You’re not failing. You’re recalibrating.
And that takes strength.

This permission slip is the final one because it brings everything else together.
When you believe that your needs matter, you stop apologising for them.

When you honour your energy, you stop spending it recklessly.

When you define your own enough, you stop chasing someone else’s too much.

And when you live from that place everything changes.
You don’t need to prove. You don’t need to perform. You just get to be. Fully. Clearly. Quietly. You.

Want to Honour This Shift in a Tangible Way?

If you’re ready to start defining life on your own terms Permission Slips for Women Who Have Had Enough and our other eBook Start Saying No is a powerful place to begin.

It includes this final reminder:

You are allowed to want more and need less.

You’ll find practical tools, scripts, and gentle mindset shifts to help you rebuild from that truth. Let this be the moment you stop seeking approval… and start trusting yourself again.
Because this is your life. And you are allowed to shape it slowly, softly, and strongly exactly as it fits.
