Optimism vs. Pessimism

Expanding Income - Articles by other Authors No Comments »

Optimism vs. Pessimism
Some people see the glass as half empty.
Others see it as half full.  But is it really as simple as that?  Is it
possible to be a bit of both? What are the advantages and disadvantages
to both?  Maybe there is more to both mind-sets.

When you think about it, most people tend to be an optimist
sometimes and a pessimist other times.  Ironically, a lot of times
things turn out how the people tend to feel about them.  If a person
feels like something will go well or feels optimistic about it, it
usually seems to go well.
The same is true of the reverse.  When someone feels like something will go badly, it tends to do just that.

So why is this?

Henry Ford once said, "If you think you can, or you think you can’t,
you are right!"  Does this mean that what we think about, whether
positive or negative, tends to happen?
The only answer that I can
really give to that is yes, but very basically.  We cannot simply think
things into existence, no matter how optimistic we are, if that is all
we do.  And when it comes down to it, that’s not really optimism, but
delusion.

But then is there any real difference between pessimism and optimism
if, when it comes down to it, the results aren’t any different?  The
short answer is yes, with an added but.

Pessimism will tend to lead to bad outcomes, whether it is because
you just think things will turn out poorly and thus do not take any
action, or because the pessimism will color your actions and choices
and as a result you tend to do things that will make the result what
you expected, the bad outcome.

Now where the but comes in with optimism is that the mere act of
thinking either optimistically or pessimistically will for the most
part produce not much difference in outcome, with perhaps a slight edge
to the optimist.
However, when you add positive, productive action to that optimism, this is when truly amazing things can happen.
You
can be as optimistic as you want that you will find a way to get the
money for that new car or new house, but unless you are including the
productive action that helps to push things to that end, you will never
get there.  The difference between only thinking optimistically and
thinking optimistically while acting in a productive manner is kind of
like saying to an empty fireplace "Give me warmth and then I will put
some wood in you".

I once knew a woman who always said, "I would rather expect the
worst and be pleasantly surprised on the rare occasion when good
happens than be disappointed all the time".  This pessimistic attitude
of hers has brought her nothing but misery and strife, and yet she
still thinks it has nothing to do with her.  She does not realize that
her pessimism is coloring her entire life and making the bad things she
expects to happen actually happen. My response to her was always, "I
would much prefer to expect the best and enjoy what life gives me than
to constantly worry about how bad things are."  For a long time, we had
the same results.
Then I realized that I needed to do my part and
put positive, productive action behind my thoughts.  And while I am not
where I want to be yet, I have moved much closer to it and have been
much happier along the way.

So I would say to you: be optimistic!  Expect the best out of life!
Expecting the best out of life is better than being miserably
pessimistic.  Above all though my optimistic friend,  don’t forget to
do your part to not just think but also act optimistically.

Disadvantages Of A Home-Based Online Business

Disadvantages Of A Home-Based Online Business

By Jason Rickard

At the same time as the Internet proffers a lot of prospects intended
for the home-based entrepreneurs, it has its negative aspect. Now these
are drawback of operating a web production.

1. disruption by
family members. Sometimes, while you’re trying to do something useful,
there is bound to have disruption at the office if your work from home
based business resides in the kitchen or living room. There are ways to
solve this if you have an extra room that you are able to use to set up
your office in.

2. just basic laziness and procrastination.
It’s easy to set off work from home based online business in swap over
for a pleasant calm day in front of the TV watching the HBO. It’s
really tough to get motivated at times. Particularly when everybody has
left the house and you are all by yourself.

3. finding a
good balance between family time work from home business time and my
full time job. Yes I still have a full time job. One of the reasons I
started a work from home business is so I would have more leisure time
with friends and family. But until I am making enough to quit my full
time job, it does not look like that will happen.

4.
protection plus not knowing how much funds your work from home business
is obtainable to formulate from month to month. As well waiting for
checks to show up in the mail that are a several days behind when you
require to compensate a bill or the mortgage possibly be a problem.
When you are working for someone else intended for a set total of hours
plus a set hourly charge you know precisely what your wages will be.

5. Online promotion is not free of charge. The charge of web site
design, software, hardware, online allocation costs, maintenance of
your site, and for sure, time, and each and every one must be factored
into the cost of providing your service or manufactured goods.

6. production can simply be copied. The proverb “Achievement raise
copycats” is more obvious on the Web than in other profitable mediums.
With your business accessible on your site, absolute with full
descriptions of your services or pictures of your goods, people can
simply learn what you comprise to proffer and make a decision to open a
related production to contend with yours. Additional so if they
distinguish your business to be an accomplishment The Internet has
authorized your business to be imitated so effortlessly!

There are many small home business merchants retaliate with other
businesses that cheated their business impression, their sites,
including their domains. Several are even their previous customers, who
recognized that theirs is an excellent business and begin to present
the similar precise goods. Others obtain it a pace in advance and open
a comparable site by altering a solitary letter in their domain name
(for instance; adding an "s").

Except you have the income to
copyright your business conception and products, or to pursue extended,
overspent court battles on patent breach, home-based online businesses
are mainly vulnerable to this type of threat on the Web.

Ezine Marketing - Get Subscribers

Ezine Marketing - Get Subscribers

By Razvan Rovinaru

Nowadays there are a lot of people that begin to work from home on line
and after building their website they start an Ezine as well. The
question that many of them ask is how come they don’t get more
subscribers for their newsletter.

I’m going to talk to you about a few things you can do to get people to subscribe to your newsletter.

A good start would be getting your Ezine listed on as many newsletter
directories as possible. So start submitting your newsletter to these
directories even though you might think this is time consuming. If you
really don’t have the time to stay and submit your newsletter to Ezine
directories you can always try newsletter submission services.

I recommend you go to Google, type in “Ezine Directory” and start submitting.

If you want people to subscribe, offering them something usually works
best. Try to give them something free. It can be whatever you like such
as an e-book, or a free report or free ad on your site. The better the
things you will give them the more subscribers you will have.

It is always important to promote your newsletter. A good free way to
advertise your newsletter is through your sig file or email signature.
Mostly every email program allows you to add a signature file at the
end of every email you send. It is usually a few lines long, so you
have enough space to promote your Ezine.

By holding a
contest on your website is another good way to gain subscribers. How?
Well hold a contest and make it a requirement to be subscribed to your
newsletter in order to participate in that contest. This usually works
and gets you more signups.

Start visiting message boards and
forums and begin posting on them. Write on forums you enjoy and after
you make yourself credible other forum members will more than likely
want to see what you have to offer. Before you post make sure you read
the rules of that forum. Most forums permit you to ad a signature file
when you post. This is a very valuable way through which you get
traffic to your website.

A very common topic on forums is
“ad swap” which brings us to the next way through which you will
possibly get more subscribers to your Ezine. Swapping newsletter ads
between publishers is a very common thing. You need to find a
newsletter who’s audience will enjoy your Ezine. Then all you need to
do is ask the publisher to swap newsletter ads and you will probably
receive a positive answer.

Remember though that getting a
big mailing list doesn’t happen over night. These are just a few tips
and methods you can use to get you started in your endeavor. Remember
to have good content in your newsletter and always plant your link
wherever possible. Getting your link out there is very important
because this will bring you a lot of subscribers.

Locating An Internet Based Home Business Opportunity

By Kevin Hiscock

The right Internet Based Home Business Opportunity for you is probably
just a few keystrokes away. Granted, you’ll find the odd unscrupulous
dealer who will spoil it for some, but if you use common sense and pay
close attention to the details of the various Internet Based Home
Business Opportunities, you will find the one to suit you. Take a
moment to reflect on your future goals, hopes and dreams. Then you will
be in a better position to take advantage of many offers, or maybe just
one, depending on the amount of time you are willing to devote to your
Internet Based Home Business Opportunity.

Locating an
Internet Based Home Business Opportunity which will allow you to Work
and Earn Income from Home is similar to locating a suitable hobby.
Firstly, you need to find something you feel comfortable with. It will
no doubt involve trial and error, a little experimentation, and a
willingness to take a calculated chance or two

Quite
possibly the simplest Internet Based Home Business Opportunity is
“Affiliate Marketing”. As the owner or contributor to a website with
webmaster access, you will be able to put affiliate links on your site.
The primary aim is to encourage visitors to your site to also visit the
site of the Affiliate Sponsor. Most sponsors will pay you a percentage
of any sale generated by your link. Depending on the time available to
devote to your site and the subsequent growing of its popularity, this
may well be a lucrative way of making money with an Internet Based Home
Business Opportunity.

Many other Internet Based Home
Business Opportunities exist ranging from the very simple to the very
complex, from the very affordable (sometimes free) to the more
expensive…….Find one to fit your level of expertise (many require no
previous experience at all) and budget (never overcommit yourself), and
set yourself personal goals. You may well surprise yourself at just how
suited you are to running and maintaining your own Internet Based Home
Business.

The Traits Of A Successful Network Marketer

Expanding Income - Articles by other Authors No Comments »

The Traits Of A Successful Network Marketer

By Gray Rollins

There are many factors that make up a successful MLM marketer. The one
main point of all this is honesty. People in this world are looking for
people to sell them goods that are honest about what they are selling
and not trying to give them a snow job. This comes on the heels of
being a product user as well. If you are not using the products you are
selling then you are going to lose a fair amount of credibility with
the buyers because then they believe that if it is not good enough for
you then it is not good enough for them.

To make the best
first impression possible you need to establish a relationship of trust
by telling the customer how you use the product and all of the pros and
cons about it that you have found yourself. Always find something
slightly negative to say about the product. A person who sits there and
does nothing but go on and on about how great something is sounds fake
and insincere.

Another key factor to being successful in MLM
marketing is being likable. As a person you need to adopt a personality
that is pleasant and outgoing above all else. The relationship that you
establish with your clients should be based on mutual trust and a near
friendship. If you are pleasant and friendly with the people you are
selling to, you will find there is a certain amount of success that
comes along with that.

Communication with the people you
have sold to and brought into your network is vital to success. When
you sign up a new client you will need to foster the working
relationship to help them grow into a proven earner for you and the
network that you are building around them. Take the time to remain in
contact with them on a regular basis, perhaps twice a week. The more
you stay in contact the more their confidence in the network will grow.
When this starts to trickle down the line you will have a network of
people who are effectively selling the products for you and also making
a lot of commissions at the same time.

You should also
encourage the members of your network to speak with one another.
Everyone wants to feel like they belong and when you have a group of
people that are speaking and sharing notes you have a recipe for
success. The group feeling allows the network members to interact with
one another and understand that there are others out there working the
very same way that they are. This will help you to work in the positive
results of the network while helping everyone to learn from the
mistakes and rejections that have been had along the way.

Communication is probably the single most powerful tool you have available when it comes to MLM success.

Home-Based Business – Is It Right For You?

Home-Based Business – Is It Right For You?

By Diana Ennen

What does it take to be successful in this field? Ambition, personal
drive, motivation, desire and perseverance are the forerunners. Without
these, all the skills and experience in the world won’t enable you to
succeed. However, combine those with your personal skills and
experience, and you’ll have what it takes.

Also, take into
account the following: Are you ambitious, constantly striving for more
fulfillment in life? Are you not fully satisfied until you’ve done your
absolute best? If so, working from home is for you. There are no
limitations. The more you put into the business, the more you’ll get
out of it. You control your paycheck. Only you can determine what
follows that dollar sign on your tax return each year.

Are
you a self-starter? You alone are the one who will make this business a
success or failure. The amount of time and energy you invest will
determine just how successful you are with your business. Are you
motivated enough to make things happen? In the beginning stages, a
business will require a tremendous amount of hard work and long hours,
often without immediate results. You need to be willing to invest that
time and await the results with confidence.

Are you
creative? Can you think of a new idea and within days make it a
reality? What a joy it is to tap that inner imagination and create a
new idea for your business. Whether it’s an effective advertising piece
or a dazzling brochure for your clients, you have the power to make it
work.

You should be self-motivated and enjoy working with
others. Many of you will come from a 9-5 job and the general tendency
is to cut loose with the extra freedom. No Boss-No Time Restraints-What
fun! You have to discipline yourself right from the beginning not to
get sidetracked watching soaps and sleeping in. After you are
established, your workload won’t permit this anyway.

Working
with different clients is a part of owning your own business. Remember,
a satisfied client will tell other potential clients about your
services. You need to possess the ability to make your clients feel
confident and secure in your services and comfortable working with you.

You can’t fold under pressure. Owning your own business can
be extremely stressful at times. There are no bosses to run to or
co-workers to seek advice from. The computers will break, faxes will
jam, clients will become too demanding and you must know how to handle
the situation and stay calm. NEVER PANIC! Learn to take a deep breath,
regain your composure and then solve the problem.

You should
be organized and have a good understanding of the business you are
going into. Many companies fail because they didn’t do their homework.
Read as much as you can on home-based businesses before you get
started. Research your area to determine the customers’ needs and the
amount of competition.

You need to be able to say NO!
Clients will take advantage of you if you don’t. You have to remain in
control or you will find yourself working outrageous hours for little
profit. Decide what hours you want to work and stick to that schedule.

Owning your own business can be an exciting and rewarding adventure.
There is a tremendous feeling of accomplishment when you land your
first client or make that first sale. It’s the kind of feeling that you
just want to keep getting over and over again.

Excuses, Excuses

Just how badly do you want this? What’s holding you back? People
present all kinds of excuses for why they shouldn’t start a home-based
business. Fear is the most common. Fear of failure, fear of financial
insecurity, fear of responsibility, and fear of change are the most
frequently stated. Let’s look at these for a moment and see if they
apply to you.

Fear of Failure: Most of us fear failure. It’s
natural. Who wants to fail at anything? Besides, if you don’t try, you
can’t fail, and you will not have to deal with those negative emotions.
Successful entrepreneurs see failure as an opportunity. They believe
that there is no such thing as failure, only lessons. You need to be
able to learn from your past failures or, as I call them, “tries.” I
consider it this way: “I tried it, it didn’t work, so I’ll try
something else.” I give failure no power. One of our favorite clichés
is, “I would rather regret something I did over something I didn’t do.”

You should learn valuable lessons from each of your mistakes.
What did you do wrong that could be corrected next time? Never dwell on
your mistakes. Solve the problem and plan a new course of action.

You can also prevent the risk of failure by being aware of why most
home-based or small businesses fail and then guard against these
things. The following are several reasons many businesses fail:

1.Lack of enthusiasm, motivation, dedication and drive
2.Lack of self-confidence
3.Lack of knowledge and expertise
4.Lack of management skills necessary to run a successful business
5.Lack of providing clients with quality and professional services
6.Lack of a professional attitude
7.Lack of a market for services

Remember that success takes time. Very few businesses are overnight
successes. It takes work, rethinking of ideas and carrying out your
plans. Think of success as a marathon, not a sprint.

Fear of
Financial Insecurity: This is a valid concern for those leaving the
security of a full-time job with a regular paycheck every week. There
is no guarantee that every week you will make a certain amount of
money. However, you can take steps that will enable you to make it
through the slow times until your business is up and running. Don’t let
your paycheck addiction seriously interfere with your dream of
entrepreneurship. Keep in mind that you could be downsized, fired, laid
off, let go, given the pink slip (you get my point) tomorrow, so take
control of your future now!

Have two or three months of
money in reserve to help you through the first few months. This
alleviates the stress of having to make money NOW! Many start a
business on a part-time basis and continue working their full-time jobs
to keep money coming in and to build their client base. However, let
this stop you from starting a business. After being in business now for
20 years and seeing so many businesses succeed, I know many who have
made it without this extra money.

Fear of Responsibility:
Many are frightened by the role of sole responsibility. They like the
option of going to someone else when a crisis hits and having that
person solve the problem. With everything falling on their shoulders,
they fear they can’t handle the stress. Advance planning is the key
here. When you start your business, have a good back-up plan in effect.
Then when a crisis hits, you immediately know what to do. After the
first few crisis situations, you learn to remain calm and solve
problems with little effort.

What Do You Have To Be To Succeed In A Home Based Business

What Do You Have To Be To Succeed In A Home Based Business

By Pedro Sousa

So, 95% of the people that try to earn money online FAIL. That’s a fact and nobody can argue with that.

But, you can belong to the 5% who actually earn money from the comfort of their own houses. How? I call it the three "Be’s".

Before that, let’s talk about something else. Is it possible to start
bulding an income using just FREE advertsing resources? Basicly, is it
possible to earn money online without spending a penny?! NO! I’ve
talked about it with other marketers and we all reached the same
conclusion: at some point, you have to spend some money. But the trick,
is how to spend it. Face it like an investment to future. Just spend it
wisely. What leads to my main point. What do you have to be to really
earn a "few bucks" using the internet in these so called "home based
business"?

Be Active - That’s right. If you have an idea,
just explore it and do something about it. How many times did i heard:
"oh man, i want to do this, but i don’t if it’s going to work. Maybe i
just should let it go". WRONG. Be active in every way that you can be.
You will never know if it is a good idea, if you just don’t try to make
it work!

Be Patient - While you are advertising your main
home based business you have to be patient. Advertising is a number’s
game. Just don’t quite and keep trying. Give yourself a couple of
months until you give up.

Be original - In every step of the
way, you have to be unique and creative. Do something different from
the competition, and BEING ACTIVE here can really pay off. Write down
some ideas that you think can work, embrace them with enthusiasm and
you will see results in no time.

That’s about it. If you can
be active, patient and original you can earn money online. Along your
money journey, invest your money wisely (no guarateed sign-ups and so
on). Before EVERY MOVE research about it in order to find some feedback
and then ACT!

Transitioning Home To Work

Transitioning Home To Work

By Bobby Ryatt

Why Work at Home?

More and more people are making the great transition from commuting to
work to bringing their work life home. Skeptics say that the trend is
short lived, and many people who finally quit their jobs will be forced
to return to the workplace within five years. They are, however,
skeptics and with a little preplanning this does not have to be the
case at all.

The first thing you need to address is why you
want to work at home? Do you see yourself sleeping late and walking the
dog in the middle of the afternoon and playing with the kids before
dinner? All of this can happen, just typically not on the same day.
Remember you are trying to get work done from home as well as be home
to let the dog out and play with the kids.

Working from home
is not the lazy person’s ticket out. It takes commitment and effort and
often a stringent schedule in order to be successful. Your friends may
want to believe that you are lounging around the house sipping
margaritas and working on your tan, but what are the chances of that
bringing home the ever important bacon?

Telecommuting is
becoming a stronger industry, whether you are looking at a home based
business or planning to find actual employment from home, there is a
lot of support out there to assist you along the way. One of my
favorite support sites is Allworkathomeguide. The information provided
on the web site in invaluable for making the transition to home
employment.

Defining your reason for working at home
motivates you to make the necessary changes along the way in order to
make it happen. Notice I said along the way. It is never recommended
that you simply quit your job and then start working at home. Having
the business already in place and operating on a profitable level is
much more reasonable.

Once you have defined your reason why,
then you definitely need to address the how. You are motivated, so be
cautious about just leaping on the first thing you find. Research what
consumers are after and how you can provide a unique niche. Get your
home business web site going and promote yourself out there. Remember
that your home business web site is promoting you all over the world in
a global market. This is an amazing revolution.

Deciding How to Work at Home

Home employment is a little more difficult to find than a home
business, but it is possible especially if you posses a skill that is
unique. In just about every niche there is the need for consultation.
Do you have a few credentials under your belt? A solid education? Do
you really know what you’re doing? If so, then it is quite possible to
set yourself up in a home based business doing consulting work. Home
based consultants basically have one requirement. You must be able to
produce results. If you can do that, you are golden.

The
most popular option when deciding how to pay the bills when you start
working at home is a home based business. Internet marketing is huge
and it is still growing. Internet marketing allows people to build
passive incomes from home as well as develop more time to spend with
their families. Affiliate programs and many other home based businesses
came with their own home based web sites, allowing you to just focus on
the marketing that in most cases they are willing to teach you anyway.
Again, do your homework and research what’s out there, what works, and
what’s growing. Another visit to Allworkathomeguide can help sort
through the mountains of home based businesses on the web.

When deciding what is going to pay the bills and buy your vacations,
remember that if you absolutely hate it you probably won’t be
successful at it. As hard as it is to drag yourself into a job that you
hate, trying to work from home with a business that you hate is much
harder. When you walk through the door at work grumbling away, you have
made the commitment to stay and muscle your way through the day. When
you are at home with the bed, the television, the dog, the laundry, and
all life’s little distractions right there in front of you it becomes
nearly impossible to muscle your way through the day.

Setting Yourself Up for Success

Once you have found the right financial vehicle to bring you home and
understand why you want to work from home, set yourself for a
successful transition. Literally setting yourself up for success means
developing a home office environment that will help you get there.

Choosing a room in your house that is away from distraction and quiet
is highly beneficial. Most people convert a spare bedroom into their
office space. The telecommuting office needs to resemble any other
business office with all the appropriate tools to work. A desk,
computer, phone, fax, and filing cabinets create an office space that
is workable and real. As important it is Setting Yourself Up for
Success with all the equipment.

It is equally important to
prepare yourself emotionally and Setting Yourself Up for Success. Take
yourself and your working hours seriously. Some people still dress for
work when they first transition home to work because it sends the
signal to them that they are not there to play. For many people this
works. Some people can actually sit around in their underwear like they
advertise and get their work done and be quite successful.

Set limits with your family. Working at home doesn’t mean that the
spouse or the children can come busting into the office yakking in your
ear while you are on the phone or otherwise engaged. A very simple
doorknob hanger can let your family know when it’s okay to enter and
when you need the privacy. Sometimes it takes a little practice to get
everyone on the same page.

Set limits for yourself. Working
at home requires discipline. It can be very difficult to be on the
phone in your office while you hear little Tommy screaming his little
heart out downstairs and wondering exactly how your significant other
is either handling or mishandling the situation. Just as you wouldn’t
come home from work if you heard the commotion over the phone, don’t
come running out of your office to see what’s wrong. Let it be handled
by your other half and discuss it later. Running out of the room will
only encourage outrageous behavior when little Tommy wants you to play
instead of work.

Building Passive Income Working From Home

For most people, passive income is the actual goal. Building passive
income working from home can be a long road, but it is well worth
getting paid for something you did ten months ago and knowing that it
will keep paying you. Eventually, you will find that you actually
bought back your time freedom.

Building passive income
working from home is not easy, and it takes more dedication than most
traditional work at home jobs, but most people will tell you that it is
worth it. Passive income is typically generated by a system that sells
for you while you are not currently engaged. Passive income typically
comes from multi level marketing or affiliate programs.

Out
of the thousands of multilevel marketing and affiliate programs out
there today, there is sure to be one that you feel confident about
building a passive income working from home with. The road is not
smooth and you will once again have to revisit your reasons for wanting
to work at home to stay motivated, but it can happen for just about
anybody.

My favorite informational source allworkathomeguide
has plenty of articles to help you over those humps, whether they are
situational or motivational. It’s a great place to go when you are
wondering if you’ve made a mistake or feeling overwhelmed with how much
you have left to do that doesn’t apply to the work life but is quietly
begging for attention from the other room.

Friends and
family members might not always understand your goal when you are still
building the passive income working from home, but once you have it
most of them will stop offering their two unsolicited cents and at
least silently admit that they were wrong.

"On Your Way “Transition to work at home”

“Transitioning to a work at home” position or building a home based
business is not the easiest thing to do. There are people who make it
seem that way but most people really have to work at it for quite
awhile before achieving their goal. If it seems like it’s taking time,
it should and you are right on target. If it seems like nothing is
happening, seek out advice at allworkathomeguide.

Keeping
yourself motivated, keeping your family involved and understanding, and
keeping your goals in sight will help you to find the right path and
the supportive environment you need. Anyone who really wants to can
make the “transition to working at home”. Any family that wants a
parent at home can make the adjustments to having a parent working from
home.

The work at home revolution is an amazing industry.
Your challenges from day to day will be different, but you will
ultimately be in charge of your own success and for the most part, your
own time. People who work at home have typically found something they
love to do and are driven to do it well. They are typically happier
individuals and more relaxed in their work and home life. It is well
worth the journey.
